3 Star Training & Pick'n' Mix

Dear all,

This wednesday there will be 3 star training on a river meet at the Sports Centre at 12, if that time is bad give me a ring (07843098980) everyone that wants to do their 3 star at the weekend really needs to be there for coaching, if you cant come let me know and of course thursday in the pool, but only a limited amount can be achieved here.

Firday afternoon, (hopefully Lucy will post timings) we (the canoe club are hosting Pick 'N' Mix sports.  This will be a great chance to show a lot of people what we do and what they could do in a few months, I have a plan regarding mass numbers of people in the pool at once but what i really need is people that are willing to come on down for the evening and help run different games, i'm pretty sure its going to be a laugh and could get us enough members for this 100 party. If you want to help again let me know, post , ring , txt or whatever the more people we have the better and anyone can help the more willing freshers the better.

I afraid thats all i have, if you need someone to call about dramas concerning this or any other topics raised then give me a call!

Ps Nottingham a week wednesday anyone?

Pebble has spoken!!!

As there has been much confusion over what is happening tonight, i went straight to the top and asked pebble what on earth was going on!!!

It turns out the bbq will be happening on campus as its easy to get to for the majority of people.  It also allows all you scoreites to go onto it quite happily, (warning please restrain me if i try to go to score, i have a major lab report due and a seminar to prepare for all before thurs lunch, where neither will not benefit from a night at score whats so ever!!!)

There will be a bbq there, so its only bring your own meat and booze.

As for the BBQ location it will be a t bbq site 2 which is on the field behind new rootes.  We technically have the spot from 7-9 but if you are not sure where it will be then come and find some people in the bar who will be meeting from 6:30 onwards as i am in a meeting til 8 (hopefully can sneak out at 7, fingers crossed).  By the way if you have a random fire extinguisher or first aid kit or bucket i would greatly appreciate your bringing it as i said we had all of the above when i signed the form to allow us the bbq.

Any further news/comments/issues text/phone strongman/leave a message on the forum, as i am about to lock myself in an enclosed room with no distrations in the hope i get this flaming report done!!!

Dear all, just to keep you in the Loop -

  • I am going with my old canoe club to Woolacombe this weekend, if you want to come sort yourself out and i can tell you where we are staying - there are going to be lots of people there and many from the club already
  • A fair few of those that went to Scotland still owe me 50p for the drying room, i know its small to keep asking for 50p but when 10 of you haven't paid and i'm extremely poor it makes a difference!!
  • 3 Star Theory Questions will be up by the end of the week, prob firday with answer the week after
  • Scarf Stars from Scotland are being witheld so that its a surprise at Sport Ball as to who has won but they have been done

Hey Boys n Girlies

I have a propasition (I'm pretenting to be a social sec - still doesn't mean i can spell - Bear with me!) Wednesday 26th (week 2) a day for sport i feel, and so we shall do what we do best (paddling and beer - not necessarily in that order)

We are going on an afternoon magical mystery tour meeting at Westwood at 12pm with paddling Gear and as many cars and drivers as we can. Proposed venues include Neme (if it's open) or Stratfoord or Mill end or wherever. Open to all.

If you want to come can you post on the forum so i know who to expect cars wise, first come first served as usual.

Then keep the evening free because i think i owe the club a post tour (/post busa/mid revision - delete as applicable) social. Will be a bbq either on campus or more ideally avec a house party (any offers??) but will tell you details on Monday. All you need to know for now is to keep Wed night free from revision and other social events, to buy cow (or veggie alternative) and beer - venue is trival.

Importantely the paddle (oh dear) and red book should be present - along with any rescue beers you still owe...????

Yay!! Party time. See you all Friday (at BUSA's) or Mon (at the pool) or Wed (beer and BBQ)

PS If you came to Scot be at the pool at 8pm on Monday to wash boats

PPS If you came to Scot take any lost property/club kit you gained to the pool on Mon

PPPS I have your hoodies/rugby shirts/jackets. They will also make an appearence at the pool on monday (we'll be lucky if we make it into the water!)

BUSAs - PLEASE READ

Posted 19y 0mth ago by Some Old Git

The final arrangements for the BUSAs.  Everyone should be aware by now that it's THIS WEEKEND.  We are meeting at 12.00 midday on Friday to load the van and we will be setting off soon after that.  Please be on time to help with kit.  If you can't make it at this time you need to urgently phone Jon (07702 083067) or Matt (07815 907522).

You will need:

Paddling kit (with a change if you have it), warm clothes (bad weather), warm weather clothes (nice weather), sun block/hat, a sleeping bag, roll mat, food for breakfast and lunch on Sat/Sun (we will run a trip to the chippy on Friday night, and food will be provided on Saturday), YOUR LIBRARY CARD.  There may be a bar on site, but the organisers are still not sure, so you may want to bring some liquid refreshment!  Feel free to bring anything else you so desire to make your life a little more comfortable, bearing in mind that there is limited room!

Tents - If you have a tent, please bring it, even if you know you are sharing with someone else.  Better to have too many than sleeping in the van!

One last, very important thing.  There is a trip form on the club noticeboard in Union North.  PLEASE SIGN THIS FORM - without it, we are not insured, and if you hurt yourself, we're truly screwed.  I apologise that it is such late notice, and also if your name is not there (I did it from memory!) - please add it in a space.  You may also sign when we meet to leave on Friday, but it is a good idea to get as many signatures as we can before then.

Any questions, post on the forum.

Thanks,

Your (Just About To Retire) Polo Exec
