Afternon all.
You've had three weeks of recuperation, now it's time once again to hit that cheese fest that is SCORE. Same timings as last time, 1800hrs in the TES for those who want to get in on the drinks  offers, circling will comence at 1900hrs. "But what about us Leam trainers!" I hear Ye shout. Fear not for plans are afoot to make Leam training slightly earlier next week (details to be confirmed early next week).
Our dress theme for this social is bin bag clothing. Creativity will be rewarded, lazyness punnished! Pretty simple really, make an outfit out of bin bags.
It would be brilliant to see as good a turn out as our first visit to Score, and if you are Leam training it is compulsory you attend. No excuses about costumes will be accepted, as it is so easy.
God speed those who are travelling down to London this weekend and good luck.
Cheers
The Baron
Ever sat on a polo pitch and wondered just what the hell the rules were? If so (and believe me, im not just talking about freshers!) there will be a rules course next tuesday at 5:00 until 7:00 in R0.12 (bottom floor of the Ramphal building). The course will cover all the basic rules and regulations needed to be able to play polo without being constantly interrupted by the ref's whistle! I have also been told that there will be practical demonstrations (don't ask me how these work without a swimming pool?!), and it will be a very good introduction for both those new to polo, and those that need a bit of a refresher on the rules.
Those interested in attending, please post below so that we can get an idea of numbers.
Ok folks the time has come again to show the other universities of England that we are indeed a force to be reckoned with.
Yes thatÔÇÖs right the BUCS WWR party is upon us!... (and the oh course the little matter of a bit of racing!) We'll be back off to Yorkshire to brave the mighty Washburn again, and everyone is welcome! The last few years we've had a really great trip, lots of fun and banter with other uni's and of course an awesome river.
Now donÔÇÖt let the words BUCS Racing scare you,┬áeveryone is welcome we┬ádonÔÇÖt take it┬áseriously and everyone┬áwho finishes gets a point for the uni and for our team. We are more about the socialising and general fun, the┬áWashburn is an awesome┬áriver and there will be safety, and┬áhelp on hand┬áfor those who prefer to swim down.
Ok this┬áAdventure is taking place weekend week 8,┬á21st-23rd of November, and the reason IÔÇÖm pestering you soo early as because it is BUCS┬áwe need to register┬áall our athletes and enter them in their races. And good news because it is BCUS,┬áWarwick Sport will pay a good deal of the trip┬áso will be megar-ly discounted! Sign up is open now!
There are different categories so if you want to come you need to email me at president@warwickcanoe.co.uk what you want to compete in and your uni no.
There is men and womenÔÇÖs sprint, (K1/C1/C2)
Men and womenÔÇÖs WWR (K1/C1/C2)
The Team event (3 people)
And the open event for all of those aspirant croco-kayaks and non students.
Most people do the WWR and the sprint and we will make up the teams from all those who enter, so what are you waiting for, go and sign up! Sign up closes next Friday so don't waste any time!
Your lovely President,
Madi x

Madi x
Ladies and Gentlemen, I proudly present to you our first social of the new term!
The plan is to attend Score week 2, this coming wednesday. Meet in the big tent thing at 1900hrs(7pm), I will hopefully have found a space for us. The union theme is a Pajama Party, but I thought it would be a good idea to do something a little different. Our fancy dress is going to be Hi-Vis themed. So you can wear anything that is fluorescent, glittery or just dazzlingly, brightly coloured. I bet Madi is thinking all her Christmas's have come at once! At least if we get separated on the dance floor it'll be easy to find each other again.
It's going to be a night to remeber so start sorting out those costumes. I hope to see lots of you at the pool sessions early next week. Any queeries, send me an email or talk to me at a pool session.
Happy Paddling
Matt
